The gambling regulator of France published data on the development of the industry in the third quarter of this year. According to those results, online poker gambling is pushing ahead thanks to increased activity in tournament competitions.
As provided by the French regulator, licensed online gambling operators generated revenue of 346M in the third quarter of this year. The figure is 27.7% higher than in the same period last year. In addition, the industry increased revenue by 3M compared to the second quarter of 2019.
The main driving force behind online gambling has seemed to become bookmakers. 13 licensed operators provided data according to which the volume of revenues increased by 44% and amounted to 214M.
Bets on racing unexpectedly began to gain popularity: in the current quarter, 5% more players the online gambling community.
The number of active players at online poker tables increased by 8% and amounted to €256 thousand. The total income from online poker gambling grew by 12% – up to 60M.
